Well for the first time in MONTHS I almost had a complete day's modelling. So I was able to get a lot completed. The spure shot...![]() First off the moulded hand rails all went to be replaced with brass... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ...and the assembled top of the locomotive. A bit bendy-warpo in places, but otherwise a good fit. There were several sink marks which needed attention, but nothing too drastic... ![]() The plan is to build her in stages, so next up will be the chassis and running plate, followed by wheel sets and running gear. At this rate she'll be built by next weekend, and then I have to wait for a month for the next bits. |

Thank you. The reason. Knew I missed something. My rationale here is that years ago I saw a photo of my paternal Grandad prior to the WW2 stood on a platform somewhere in the south with a Prairie directly behind him. I always thought the Locomotve looked very impressive and shone beautifully in the sun. I believe the photo is now at my Aunt's, so it would be nice to have a comparative photo to show. |

Right then progress thus far has been to add all the grabs rails, handles, smoke box hinge and condenser pipe using a mix of brass and cooper wire. The smoke box, and main body are now glued onto the running plate using plasti-weld and this part is now ready for a coat of primer...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next up the leading and trailing wheels, and then prime the lot ready for final pain and assembly, then onto the next stage. |

I hope so. A flak train would look really nice as you don`t find too many models of them on the internet. (Well I don`t anyways....) |

In a word...not :D The wedding was a weekend affair and I've been playing catch-up with some work I'm doing 'on-the-side' (although it'll pay for a few aa Kits when complete. Primer on the body will go on tonight, then I'm should be able to complete the running gear and purchase then next bits and pieces. |

Update - Des Aster!! Finally got round to priming and then dropped the body!!! Lost the front valance steps and some of the rails, so have spent this pm replacing these. On the plus side i can now start painting and have found a good match for GWR Green - GW Ork Green; seems a pretty convincing match to me. Next up pre shade etc, pics to follow. Also decided on what to add as a load, as funds are tight at the mo', I've settled on a 3rd brake carriage, GWR Bogie Bolster wagon and load...of a German kind (ME109e). If anyone can suggest a cheap/cheerful me 109 kit I would be grateful. |

Excellent stuff, i'll get back to you tomorrow on that as a hoarder at work may have one going spare, if not email incoming. P.S. What is it about RMN's and hoarding kits - oh I feel a thesis coming on "Mental Health Professionals and actualization of the hoarding instinct - A Model Study" |
