Right here's the score so far. Primed, pre-shaded and painted the loco body, plus applied all 6 of the decals. The black is a 'scale black' and the green ended up a 5:1 mix of GW Ork Green and Vallejo black, which is a pretty close colour to the GWR green:

Next up is the cab interior painting and all that stuff. However the whole train will need a track to run on...

Now this build is growing a little from a simple loco and carriage into a full blown diorama. So on top of the 2 more carriage an aircraft (possibly 2) I have to consider ballast, track side detail and a bit of landscaping. best pull my finger out I think. :D

Well. After a halt due to other things I'm able to really crack on. The Prairie has its wheel sets on..

.. its rather natty buffer heads and hook for the chain...

Posted Image

...the base is glued and track ballasted...

Posted Image

...the carriage and Comet...

Posted Image

Posted Image

...Comet taking shape, hopefully primed and painted by close of play today...

...why the Comet? My Grandfather was on the field trials team in 1944 as I found out recently. Must dash more to do as I've got a carriage to build...

Financial constraints & common sense hit in. For the wagon alone it would have been....£40.00!!!

Well wonders never cease. I've almost built a model in a day!! the Comet has been painted and all I need to do are the road tire's and tracks. She's been given a base of Field Grey followed by a misting of Khaki Drab, this seems to have broken up the expanse of FG nicely...

...tomorrow I'll do the finishing touches and start the carriage.

Okay, base has started to take shape. A small pool...

...the landscape has been shaped and crossing made up...

Posted Image

....the prairie is taking shape nicely...

Posted Image

...and the Comet has started to receive its detail paint job after its wash...

Next job throw this lot together and get the carriage built up.
