well im not surprising anyone with building Hawks but here's why! in 2010 we won a competition for a VIP tour of RAF Valley, during the tour we got to sit in a Hawk, and then (i got to fly the simulator!) and we Had a private show of the hawk Display! (during the tour we met up with Jason (Hawk FAN)) so i plan to build both hawks, the one we sat in ![]() same plane seen here at Waddington this year ![]() and the display hawk (ive already built it in 1/72, but this will be 1/48) ![]() so i have lots of Airfix 1/48 hawk kits, i did consider doing a 2 at a time build but changed my mind, as i plan to do some of this while at NAM's cockpit fest ![]() i have the MA special sheet (which i bought at NAM a year ago with Andy) and ma sheet with the 208 sqn markings ![]()

well, the cockpit fest came and went on the saturday i broke out the kit and was doing well, she was built up and primered to dry in the hanger over night all well!! pre primer (hiding at the top!) ![]() the next morning i set about using Halfords NEW gloss black to spray her i found out 2 things 1. its like water and runs badly 2. its not very glossy anyway, i found i could sand the runs out fairly easy, and if i sprayed her for about a secon then let her dry for 30mins, then again and again, she was covered fairly even and the odd patch was glossy!! so heres what i achieved ( and i have witnesses to the small of the paint!)
