Fantastic day yesterday at Southport it wasnt as busy as last year, i suspect today maybe today will be the busier as the vulcan's turning up managed to get a handful of half decent shots, really need to invest in a faster camera though Pete ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It looks like you had an interesting show with great weather! :D I like the first Lynx pair and the second Reds shots. |

I went yesterday great show and well attended. I have a couple if decent shots I'll try and upload later. Literally a couple as it was the first time I'd used my digital camera for such an event and it took a bit to get used too; compounded by a dirty great thumbprint in the middle if the lens which I didn't notice till the show was nearly finished. Great Eurofighter display, nice to see the Vulcan again even if the display was a little more sedate than I remember from the '80's and the Tornado GR4's blowing up the beach at the end was a crowd pleaser. |

I was hoping to get a few more decent shots but the problem is i use a Canon Powershot 120 bridge camera and it must have the slowest zoom and capture rate in it's category Saturday's show seemed to be a little more spaced out and not as many displays in it as last year, i managed to see the vulcan display last year and i know what you mean about sedate, without a doubt though the GR4's and the Typhoon were fantastic Pete |

Belatedly some of my better photo's from the airshow last year, first time I'd used a digital camera and that took some getting used to. Not helped by a big thumbprint on the lens which I did not spot until late in the afternoon, so it's not actually misty, just a CSI problem. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And with the last one, does that jet pipe look right to anyone or is it now vectored thrust?

The jet pipes on the Vulcan with 301 (I think) series engines are canted outwards. There is a reason, but for the life of me I can't remember why. I'll have to start reading my Vulcan book again. |

558 has 200 series engines the reason they cant outwards is to stop hot exhaust damage to the ecm bay in the tail cone 300 series are larger jetpipes but still angle slightly outwards |
