Once I get my shelf cleared of the other stuff I have on the go I can see me building something for this GB. It may begin with a C, have an F, possibly a U and maybe the number 4 in there...

Oh looking forward to this GB. As it's a subject very dear to my heart. Now I just need to find a few decent tins of Olive Drab :D

Does anyone know if there are any 1/350 Carriers out there eligible for this GB. Had a look around and I can find WWII or more modern carriers.

There is a 1/350 Trumpeter USS Essex, but she is the WWII version, did she change much for the Korean war ?

I'll make a note of this question and ask down at the club on Wednesday evening. We have a few naval types that may be able to answer that question for you.

Hey guys. Some Forgotten War inspiration for you. It is graphic in places. I just thought you'd love to see it. If they offend I'll remove them.

I asked the question tonight. Apparently less guns since loads were fitted due to the Kamikaze threat in WW2 and were removed for Korea due to not being required. I'm told everything else was pretty much the same. I've got someone else who's going to check some literature and get back to me since the radars were improving all of the time. I'll let you know what they say.

Many thanks for taking the time to research this, I really appreciate it.

Probably a good idea if I start looking for some suitable aircraft for it then !!

Thanks again.

F4U-4B/5N Corsairs (I think they were the variants) and F9F Panthers off the top of my head. You'll be safe with some Corsairs as long as they have 4 props.
