This is a cracking looking effort on the sprue, the panel lines are deeply engraved but comparison with kits from other well know manufacturers shows they are just as fine. As well as panel lines there's also some well chosen bits of engraved rivetting (it has to be well chosen, large parts of the Vampire structure are wooden). The cockpit is nicely done and even includes a separate trim wheel which I can see flying off the sprue ne'er to be seen again! Undercarriage parts are moulded very delicately and look scale-like. I especially like the intake trunking/compressor face and jet pipe - absolutely no see-through effect. The huge proboscis means you shouldn't have any bother weighting up to avoid a tail sitter. The aircraft's configuration means it's likely to warrant very careful assembly but I've been keeping tabs on a few builds and nothing untoward has yet to be reported. The decals are beautifully printed and the fact that both schemes are right tasty (IMO) means that a second kit might have to be purchased. The gift/starter set is also available and comes with decals for RNZAF machine. I'm no big fan of the Vampire but this kit looks so delightful I'd say it's worth adding to the stash.

I thought this sort of forgetfulness only happened to old farts like me. Anyway two reviews is always better than none.

The voices told me to do it!
I might get one, as I have a nice decal sheet for a Finnish AF one.
