be nice if it happened the old stomping ground...........was there when we transitioned onto Rapier after finishing at Wadd.......Arrows had the hanger opposite at the time with an old Gnat outside as 'guardian'...........the plan was always to stuff a dummy Rapier up the tail pipe :ph43r: |

The Gnat was there untill recently. In fact it may still be, but it's hard to see from my house. I know they have a Hawk outside now, but whoever built it was a bit heavy handed with the super glue as the canopy is all misted up! When I was at West Raynham, the Rapier Training Unit and 66 Sqn were there and one night while I was on guard, some drunk officers decided it would be funny to remove one of the missiles from the hangar guardian and bury it nose down in the middle of the sports field. Needless to say it caused a little panic.....

TBH makes sense as everything does seem to be going all eggs in basket, plus being in Welton I can enjoy even more free airshows! |
