Well, it'll be a while before I get the bottle to face either my NX or my Refit, but hopefully I will carry on with my Voyager soon (started cutting out the windows.)

I've been playing around with the Arduino programming software again and come up with a lighting scheme for the Revell/Mobius BSG Viper MkII and would like to get some feedback.

The video shows the lights running from a 9V battery and is very much in development status on a breadboard.

The scheme has 3 sets of engine lights, each having one constant blue LED and 1 flickering Blue LED. There are also 2 constant white LEDs for the cockpit, 1 general light and 1 for the backlighting of panels. The other 3 LEDs are flashers that will go to the wing tip lights and cockpit lamps via fibre optics.

The whole system is run from an Attiny85 8 pin microprocessor and a voltage regulator. On the final edition these will be on a small circuit board which will mount inside the Viper and then 2 wire out to the DC power supply.

Sorry for the quality of the video.

Comments welcome.

Cheers,

Warren

Warren the lights work well in the order you say, my only concern would be is there space to fit it all?

Mark,

The vipers have quite a lot room inside and I'm using 3mm LEDs so should be okay.

How much will the kit be?

Still got a few things to sort out on it but should be about £20.

Will be fully wired and include mounts for engine LEDs.

Cheers,

After the Viper lighting kit I've started work on one for the Star Trek Klingon D7 from Revell.

Again using Arduino programming but this time with a larger Attiny2313 MC.

Video of the LEDs running off the Arduino.

The 4 green LEDs on the outside are the Warp Drives, the 2 red LEDs that flash every 2.5 seconds are the strobes, the red light on its own is the Torpedo, the 2 white LEDs are for the cabin lights and the red and orange LEDs are the impulse drives.

I have shortened the time sequence so it runs through a bit quicker than the final assembly.

Finally apologies for the Coronation Street sound track, didn't realise I was recording sound as well!!

Cheers,

Warren
