Well it took a fair amount of time but it is finally here The conversion!!!! This is the huge amount of resin included in the conversion. This is the biggest conversion I have seen or owned and that includes the 1/24 sea mossie conversion. ![]() Here is a breakdown of the parts bags Engines ![]() Props/exhausts ![]() Rads ![]() And the huge middle wing section itself ![]() The wheel wells are nicely done, is most of the casting. There are some flaws but on resin this size it is to be expected. ![]() This does look daunting but should be fun to do

Sadly the frogfoot is for the Mrs as she has been asking me to build it for her for a year or two. And me doing that for her was the only way I could talk her into letting me have the zwilling   I would say I will start it in a month or 2 as there are still some odds and ends I have to get for it. Decals for one thing but I am going to raid the stash of decals to see what I can muster up. |

Don't get too excited, no real progress as yet. Some background to a stupid project. This project started as a 'when the 1/32 HE111 comes out I may buy 2' followed by ' Why don't you do a HE111Z?' Not thinking this would be possible without one hell of a lot of scratch building I said I would when you can buy the kit for less than £30. So god bless Model zone for knocking the price down to £29. As Im good to my word I started to research the project. Luck was on my side with a company in the states were making a complete resin conversion. This was ordered to make the conversion much easier. I already had a Big ed brass set for 1 HE111 but now Im having to purchase some more interior detail for the other airframe. As the HE111's were stripped out to make them lighter with only there armament left for protection I now have no need for the Bombay. This is up for grabs in the trade section so if you want it then make me an offer. I don't want much for it so please try me. It then dawned on me that this was going to be on heavy build so some SAC metal undercart was ordered. Before anyone else takes on the project in any scale just remember everything you buy is doubled. The lettering was also a bit of a problem but that has been sorted with a set of german letter stencils being ordered. This saved me some time and money as you obviously only need the one of these as they are re usable. So instead of £15 X2 for decals I only need the letters for Ive paid £15 for a stencil I can keep using. So the moral of this story is 'don't say you will build something if you really didn't fancy it' Luckily I did want to build this and I have the room for it but it was one of those 'maybe' projects that certain people held me to my word to build. This isn't going to be a weekend build (but then again none of mine are  ) so please bear (grrrrrrr) with me. Im going to start this today so I will have some pics tomorrow. |
