Just seen the statement, Deloitte seem to be doing the same as what they did with HMV, Stopping online retail and forcing people into the shops where everything will be discounted, hopefully (as i said in my earlier post) Modelzone should be turned around within possibly a year but at the loss of the shops making the least amount of revenue. |

Aren't Amerang the main importer of Japanese brand kits? Might this have an effect on the availability of those overpriced Hasegawa releases? |

This will explain why quite a few places have been knocking the price of there hasegawa stuff down. But then again they have themselves to blame. All hasegawa do is put the same kits in different boxes, add new decals and a few new parts and add £30 to the price. £75 for a 1/72 kit is just mental for a styrene kit. |

I don't know the answer to the question Mark and I don't live anywhere close to a Modelzone branch, but as with HMV I'd guess Deloitte have shut down online operations to encourage buyers to go to the shops instead. I'd be very surprised if stuff wasn't being offered with generous discounts in the shops. peebeep |

A member of Modelzone staff has posted on facebook to say that they are trading as normal, so if you visit a shop it should be open. Also a post from elsewhere to say that they had been in a shop, but nothing is discounted yet. peebeep |

i cant see there being any sort of sale until maybe next week at the earliest, Deloitte will have to go through all Modelzone groups books and see whats losing cash and where cash can be made to bring the books in order be that by selling stock off at discount or by long shot if a buyer was found willing to take the debt on |

All the shops are open. Only the online store is closed. Gift vouchers have been reduced to half their face value.
The issue is Modelzone's expansion coming at the wrong time and being a failure. They opened a few new stores and tried to become a nationalwide chain and it has led to nearly a £1million operating loss. If Deloitte are handling it in a similar fashion to HMV, I wouldn't expect much in the way of a massive sale. HMV kept at a lot of their stock at prices near to RRP during their crisis. If anything, unfortunately, I would expect a portion of the high street stores to close. |

Ok on our way home now ive spoken to the manager of mz in meadowhell his information is thus online shop is closed and will remain so, any outstanding orders will be fulfilled in the shop no refunds will be given for any reason, gift vouchers are worth half there value but are expected to be withdrawn. All prices are frozen for the next 10 days and no new stock will arrive all staff have been told to expect job losses so with nothing to take my fancy in store i spent £43. On paints and glue |
