Yep, you guessed it. Whilst looking through the decals for the Mustang
I found these. No, I won't be using the shark mouth as I want to save that.

So, as before a 1:72 Airfix F-51D with aftermarket decals.

OK guys I thought I ought to do an update.

Here is what I have managed to do so far. The Cuban one is on the left, or is it the right? Silly me, it would be to the left wouldn't it!

Wow that was quick

I've had a gastric something or other over these last three days. The first day I was running to the bog with joints that ached like I had the flu. Even my toe joints were killing me!

Today I felt much better so decided to spend some time on these whilst off work.

I've heard it said that he has a part-built Mustang in every room.

I've adapted an old zimmer frame of my nans and bolted a tray to the top of it.

It's just the right height when squatting.

I've built a few kits in the little room. A Messersh**, a Sh**fire, a Mustink and a Bristool Blenhiem. :whistle

OK, with the Dutch pony finished I can crack on with the Cuban one.

Most of the decals have been applied although I should have painted the anti-glare panel on the nose as now any masking tape may rip the fuselage decal!

The decals are a bit odd. There aren't four of the circle/triangle/star type, only two. So one side of the fuselage won't have one and there is no under wing one. Also, the red/white/blue stripe has a different blue than the blue circle and the blue stripes on the tail. This blue matches that of the shark mouth aircraft you can do?! But I suppose you just have to hope the decals manufacturer did their research and this is how the aircraft was painted up. Cuba only had these two Mustangs anyway and they weren't used in anger so.........

Well, this one is now finished, although the undercarriage seems a bit delicate and I broke the radio mast and had to replace it with a slither of plastic card.
