OK, for a while now I have been reading literature that is targeted at kids/children.

The first set of books is by an author called Garth Nix. There are seven in the series and they have titles that have each day of the week in them, Monday, Tuesday and so on. Then there are another set of books by the same author about a character called Abhorsen.

At the moment I am reading an author who's main charater is Skulduggery Pleasent who is a skeleton detective and a good guy!

These two authors are writing stuff that is so out of the box it is wonderful.Their ideas and imagination are so unique that they are on a parr, perhap s even beyond J K Rowling and the Harry Potter series. In fact I would say that the Garth Nix novels were such a wonderful concept that they are only bested by the ultimate fiction books of Tolkien!

My daughter is reading the Skullduggery books at present and listening to her talk I decided to give them a go. In one week I have managed to read 4 books and I am now waiting for her to finish the fifth. I haven't been able to put them down as the author's concept is so refreshing.

So, if you like something that is a bit different, get the first book of either set from a charity shop and give them a go, you may be surprised to find that you too are just a big kid!

Can thoroughly endorse Mossie's comments on Skullduggery Pleasant, though I've only read the first two books, again I too pinched my daughters books.

You're never too old to read, even kids books.

The other great thing about my daughters reading habits is that it HAS to be a book, no electronic readers for her, apparently they don't smell the same.

Cheers,

Warren
