Here are my builds for the "Forgotten War" GB.

It's the Airfix Club exclusive kit of their F-86F Sabre, in the Markings of Dick Geiger's
ship, packaged with their new-tool MiG-15 in North Korean markings.
This is it!

The sprue shots . . .

There are a few parts of the MiG painted on the sprue, but they're the wrong
colour and will be repainted!

I also intend to use this-

on the Mig. First time using PE!

Can't wait for the start!

Made a start. The Eduard PE wasn't difficult to work with, a bit of simple folding,
a drop of CA and we're soon up to here:

It does look better than decals, but I'm not sure it'll look that much
better through a closed canopy! It would probably look better with a bit more
experience in using PE!

Anyhoo, the fuselage is closed up now:

and as usual, i forgot to add noseweight!
Should make good progress after getting this far!

Initial coats of paint applied. Humbrol 115 Russian Blue underneath, and Humbrol 102 Army Green on top . . .

The paints are enamels, so there will now be an interval while the paint dries, and for
re-coats!

Also, the Sabre has been started.

More soon!

It doesn't seem like nearly a week since these were reported on!

Work on both is showing good progress. The airframe structure on both is complete,
and painting is well under way. The Mig-15 has all its camo applied, although some
repairs and touches-up will be required. She looks like this:

I have to say she looks better in her photo than in the plastic!

At the time of its last photo, the Sabre looked like this:

I don't often go for aircraft in natural metal finishes, but this kit does call for it.
I know that if you wish to use Alclad II for NMF, a gloss black undercoat is recommended.
I'm sure I saw something recently somewhere on the 'net stating that Humbrol 11
Chrome Silver looked "nearly as good as Alclad II" if applied over a gloss black u/coat,
so I'm giving it a try. She's currently wearing wet Humbrol 21 and can't be handled for
photography yet (It's enamel!) I think another coat is needed and then I'll attempt
the NMF!

They're both looking great, Gaz.
Your delays with enamels was exactly why I ditched them in favour of acrylics.

Enamels are all I can get locally, and I have a large stock of them. I do buy acrylics when I can, but it means a trip into Manchester.
For anyone who doesn't know, and who was devastated(!) by the closure of
Modelzone, Fred Aldous in Stevenson Square is an art supply shop that carries a range
of Airfix kits, and Humbrol enamel and acrylic paints. If you want oils for weathering
or brushes or stuff like flow enhancer, you'll be spoilt for choice!
(No connection, except as a satisfied customer!)

Thanks for all your kind words, gentlemen.
There has been progress. The MiG has been glossed, decalled, and matted
and she now looks like this:

The "silver" NMF has been applied to the Sabre, and I have to say I can see no difference at all from using the black undercoat, except that it needed more colour coats than I'd expect for "silver".

MiGgy just needs landing gear and detail parts adding, while The Sabre should be decalled tonight!
