How the hell did this happen?

It's been discussed by us before (I couldn't find the thread).

The wife suggests the kit sale has done it. But she helped me with that to give me more focus. It also took away the feeling of being swamped by so many kits in the stash.

The current GB's are great and I have a queue of kits I want to do. I've even started a tank kit, the best way to build up the mojo I know. But it's no good.

The summer is a time where we tend to flag a bit building stuff, but the holiday GB was great.

I can't identify anything that has quietly slipped in and taken it's place, although I have been reading like there is no tomorrow, but that's late at night not during my normal plastic melting time.

Dun't matter.

Building just for the sake of it and when you're not in the mood is always the very best time to ruin a model.

Take a break and go back to the kits when the buzz is back.

It's easy to say that when you've just finished a Skywarrior..... :whistle .....

It will come back. I have been off building for a long time. I just built the glider to get back into it and now I`m ready to get back into it proper .... Marks 32nd UHU next I think :D

I felt the same recently. I think I had too much on the go at once and no end in sight. So I have decided to finish off all current projects then focus on one at a time......lets see how long that lasts, lol

In the mean time I've actually packed all my model stuff away and decided to give my man-cave a complete revamp due to the fact that I ran out of shelf space.

I've had that in the past. (The last time a bloke called Deacon on UKAR dragged me out of it! )

Since I got the cave I've had no problem at all. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed modelling as much as I am at the present.

Is there a cure for mojo overflow? :D

No worries, we've all been there and it's taken me at least 3 weeks to place just 8 decals on my Canberra.

As you know I went off the scene for a while and struggled to get back into it. I found I was just building purely for GBs and then starting to take it personally when they weren't getting any attention (that was just me being over sensitive due to ongoing events in my personal life). The hobby was becoming more of a chore due to constantly worrying about meeting deadlines rather than enjoying getting some time to do some modelling and taking my time. I'm now building things which I want to build for me rather than a GB. If it fits with a GB then great, and if it can make a deadline even better.

My main headache - working airbrush = a joy to do modelling, airbrush that wont work, constantly spits, ruins your work = soul destroying

Bingo....I seem to spend more time getting it to work properly than I do using it!!!

You don't get these problems with the hairy stick, when it wears out just chuck it and get a new one, cheaper also.

Hence why the last build was almost all brush painted. It was good to go back to basics for a bit and I actually really enjoyed spending a weekend sat in front of the TV watching films and modelling like in the good old days, rather than sat in the kitchen swearing at a piece of metal

I don't get on with brushes, I spray everything apart from small details.

As for mojo, I lost mine whilst the last round of redundancy's was on. Hence my SU-25 has dragged on.

I build for enjoyment only and nothing else hence I don't do GB's as I don't like deadlines. So if I am not enjoying it then its not fun anymore.

I can only build 1 at a time as most of my builds take up all my desk anyway but I get confused if I have more than that on the go.

That's why I like 1/72. Now I have a big bench as well I do get a little carried away.

Sunday morning I done work on the A4, put the top wing on my Albatros, painted 4 stands of 15mm panzer grenadiers and started work on 5 15mm T34s for Flames of war. I do like a bit of variety.

I've been there, all too often.
Last time was around Easter and I still haven't really climbed out of the slump!
Ive had a Tamiya universal carrier sitting almost complete from March. But if I even look at another kit yet, itll never get finished.
