The Chaffee isn't doing it for me, so hopefully one of my favourite
aircraft will.

This will be made up as an F-51D of the 12th FB Squadron/18th FB Group, Pusan, South Korea, November 1950.

Some progress. I am trying Tamiya paints. I used to hate them, but this seems to be going alright.

Not a big fan of them myself, but you seem to be doing ok with them.

Looking good so far.

I'm using Tamiya more these days, mostly for interiors. I have to say their Silver seems a bit 'grainy' though, I tend to use the Citadel metallics which are smoother.

I use a mix of Tamiya and Mr Colour paints with the airbrush, the later being better. The Tamiya metallics spray very bitty which is why I haven't produced a silver/bare metal aircraft in a very long time. I'm going to pop in to my nearest Games workshop in the near future and will try the Citadel metalics. If still not joy then I guess the bank balance will have to sacrifice for Alclads
