I have it recorded on Sky+ and was watching it last night from where I'd left it. I came up with the bit where the Polish training squadron engage for the first time. If you look behind the two lead aircraft, which are Hurricanes, I noticed the rear two (possibly 3 but it's half off the screen) are Buchans painted up to look like Hurris.......

Now that would be an interesting one for anyone doing the aircraft off the movie....

I'd not noticed it, but had heard about the mixing of aircraft.

Well spotted though, I'll have to watch it again.

Yeah I spotted that years and years ago! I have been told that they painted other aircraft up in camo to loiter around in the background but can't confirm that.

There is a great site with all sorts of behind the scenes info about the aircraft used, but my bookmarks are so badly organised I can't find the link.

A lot of this film was filmed over my head when living on Canvey, wonderful sights.
