the rumor has it Airfix will anounce a NEW 1/24 jet at Telford!!

so any ideas

apparently ee lightning has been ruled out so.....

Hawk - id love to see one but i think its been done to death
Meteor - ?not mainstream enough?
Tornado -
Hunter - ?

i think most of these are TOO big but a hawk may fit the bill even though revell have done the 32, but it did sell well and there are lots of options for a re release

any thoughts

I dare them to do a Spey Phantom!

:rolf

it would be nice

just thinking about this

we must be talking along the lines of £90 - £100 for a hawk for £150 for a phantom!

If I were a gambling man I'd put money on a 1/24 Hawk. A huge box with a Red Arrow plastered all over it, see the dollar signs light up the money man's eyes. Plus there's the fact that 2014 will be the Red's 50th display season...

i tend to agree, i just hope they give another option as well, and include pylons

im sure there will be decals out there, but the options of the various tail cones and pylons / stores would be nice especially for the cash I will be spending

I'm with you 100% on stores and options, I'm sure a lot of modellers as opposed to the casual buyer, would prefer a big Hawk that's not a Red Arrow.

sparrows are nice but......

id much rather have options for other scheems, and lets face it there are many many dispay schems, general schemes and forigen ones out there

in all the hawks ive built ive only ever made 2 red ones

i dont think 1/24 kits are for the casual buyer, the cost would prohibit that, so i hope Airfix would take that on board, but im sure if they dont after market companies will, but thats more cost...... for me!

Perhaps 'casual' is not quite the right word, but if the RRP is good (fifty quid or thereabouts?) I could see a lot of people going for it.

BUCCANEER!!!!

My money is on the Bucc as well, since there are a couple of chaps over on Britmodeller building resin 1/24 Buccs at the moment (or were, haven't checked the threads in a while).

It would make sense being a Hawk and I hope it is.

I would guess at a Hunter for various reasons - however, I'd also be inclined to permit myself a wild-card entry for a family of Phantoms. Dimensionally and technically no more demanding that a Mosquito, and certainly with colossal sales potential.

From a purely potential sales perspective I would have thought a F86 given it's widespread use. But whatever it is I'm saving my pennies from now.

Oh. Except those I'll be spending on the 1/4 scale Javelin.
