This will be my entry for the GB in honor of the unit that scored the first combat jet-on-jet, (MiG-15), kill in aviation history on the 9 November 1950.

Unfortunately the decals and spray paint are the only items I have at the moment as Hannants had a `senior` moment by informing after purchase that they had made a mistake and the kit wasn`t in stock. It`s now on back order so I`m hoping it will arrive soon.

Update.

Hannants contacted me to say it might be next year before their Panther`s are restocked. Refund given straight away, (a very helpful service), and I then bought one of the `bay` for a few quid cheaper. Result!

Kit should be with me by Tuesday. :D

Progress so far and it`s a very nice kit to put together.

The Tamiya USN blue has come out quite light in these pictures. It is in fact a much deeper blue to the eye.

A couple of update pics with the articifial light showing a better representation of the deep USN blue.

Now the big question....? Wings up or down?

 went for wings down in the end Alan.

After looking at Del`s effort I gave it serious consideration but there is some thing about the Panther`s profile I really like so my choice was made.

Today`s update shows about 98% of the decaling complete.

I was just considering the wing joint and how you'd have to be spot on with the wings down, but you nailed it.

Looking great mate. :cool

Nowt wrong with wings deployed, I only went with them folded to save space.

It is looking good so far and definitely looks like a Panther..

Lovely job. to go with the Tomcat and Panther you now need the Academy F-4B, this is a beautiful kit and mine is going together like a dream.
