This kit reviewed pretty badly, for reasons all too evident in this thread. I can remember John McIlmurray slating it in Model Airplane International, conversely his build looked superb, but he is one of those modellers who can probably produce a silk purse from a sows ear. I think it's rather unfortunate that an MPM kit like this one should find its way into a Revell box, where the average punter has an expectation of rather less hassle. I've got an Italeri boxing of this kit, it's likely to stay stashed long term. Given that Airfix are gradually working their way through re-tooling the old catalogue, you might hope they eventually get around to producing a state of the art Hudson that isn't a bear to assemble.

Decided to press on. Pulled off the nose and redid it. Still nowhere near perfect, but it will have to do....

You're a better man than me. I think I would get the "This kit is crap" rage and launch it. :D

It was close..... :rant

I don't think it will turn out very well, and I may end up replacing it with a 30 year old Airfix one just for the build quality, lol

I just want to see how it turns out now.

Oh, and to make things worse, one of the 7 or 8 individual, tiny windows along the sides fell out! Not sure how I'm going to fix that?

Krystal Klear I think it was called will fix that, although it was basically an expensive way of buying watered down PVA.

Using a highly technical cocktail stick and a make a film over the window, as it dries it goes clear.

Yes. Haven't used it in years. Will have to try and get some.

Altho, as the window is a press fit (no surrounding support) I might be able to fit it from the outside....

Ditto but you may have to thin slightly.

And keep rotating it until it starts to go off, stops it all from settling on the bottom of the window.

Nothing much to report here. Just filled the gaps. I used plastic card to fill the nose area.

Rather you than me

I still have to figure out how to fill the step from the fuselage to the nose and the joint between the two nose parts, without destoying the windows....
