Looks good to me, lots of plastic, I do hope they don't pitch the price point too high.

Have heard around £90. Seems worth it to me compared to some Tamygowa kits.

To be honest it just doesn't float my boat at all. I'm sure there will be some lovely models built from it but I would have preferred something new in 1/72 (Victor, Shackleton, Wellington...) or even 1/48 releases of something but not 1/24 (unless it was a truck!)

This was just a big announcement for Telford, there is other stuff in the pipeline for 2014.

It's probably fair and safe to say this won't be the final Airfix 1:24 Aircraft kit then. In the years to come maybe we'll see further subjects in the same vein - likely WWII subjects. ME 262 would slot into the collection there nicely.

Not necessarily obvious from the pics, but the surface detail i8s done in such as way as to show unevenness in the stressed skin panels and where appropriate overlapping panels. Some of the moulding is very fine, including meshes for the rads. The detailing on the engine and interior structure is self evident. You have options for small or big tailplanes and a good choice of weapons. The kit is engineered in such a way that a car door option is possible at a later date. Whether this kit will equal or surpass anything issued by certain other manufacturers will remain to be seen until you can actually buy and build one, but by crikey they've certainly made a statement of intent with it.

Seems like a strange subject to do a "big reveal" of, most people think it looks good but not there cup of tea (me included) im not quite sure if Airfix's promo team are oblivious to what people actually want or this is a decoy to the one kit that people have mithered them to update for years and years and years and years and years.

A 1:72 Vulcan
