I decided to get my mojo back I needed to do something different.

I started this a while back, the Revell USS Voyager

I want to light it, but, as you can see, pretty much ever light is left on, unlike on the Enterprise, where a considerate crew turn their cabin lights off when they leave....

Anyway, this presents a problem, as all the smaller windows are moulded purely as recesses....

Posted Image

Which means I have to drill them all out.
This process involves drilling a hole at the top and bottom of each window, then cutting the joining piece out and filling square-ish.

Now, when you realise that just on this piece alone, the upper saucer section, there are 272 windows to open up...it's a bit of a task.

But worth it.

And remember, I'm doing this to GET BACK my mojo..... :dead

Well, seeing as it's Xmas... ...and the shops are full of cheap LED lights, I plan to utilise some of these. If I can keep it self-contained it will help as I plan to hang this one up as I really don't have room for it (god help me when I start the 1/350th ones!)

Pilot holes drilled for 290 windows....It turns out Revell "forgot" a few, so I added them back in.

I saw some ultra-bright blue and red ones in B&M the other weekend. Now, if I they have white ones too then I'm set. It's just a case of cutting and splicing.

The plan is to make a hidden battery compartment and have a hidden switch (behind the landing bay door maybe)

you could make a display base and put the batteries an switches etc in there
cracking job on the windows!!
