Yes i've actually been doing some modelling again! Some guy on here mentioned something about some tank game...

This is the first locomotive kit i've ever built and so far i've quite enjoyed it. It's something very different to an F4U Corsair! The fit isn't brilliant and the kit shows its age. There are no locator pins for the parts so you have to guess and hold till it sets. A fair bit of Mr Surfacer has been used.

The running gear assembly. This was very fiddly to put together and unfortunately is fixed due to one of pins being missing.

I'm thinking of attempting to hollow out the couplings with a hot pin and a little bit more Mr Surfacer is required on some buffers and the rear of the cab but then it'll be off for a quick paint. I'll be making this one as per the box art in BR black but i've seen some examples that are in red and green so more Pugs may follow in the future but they'll be the Dapol examples.

Now I like planes, ok with tanks and don`t even mind the odd ship or sci-fi. But when you start seeing trains posted on here........

Will look forward to your progress mate. Looks interesting. :cool

i did one of these quite a while a go...............the problem i had was that the mould release agent was so thick you could scrape it with a finger nail! washed and washed and washed the parts, still had problems when it came to painting

I've finished the painting. I'm keen to try the newer Dapol molds and add some brass tubing in place of the efforts seen on this kit.

I've just applied the 4 decals and currently the Micro sol is doing its thing. As Pugs were never this clean and shiny it'll get a fair bit of heavy weathering once the next gloss coat is applied.

Henry was a Black 5 with a bizarre tender, I don't have one of them but boy do I wish someone did a kit of a Black 5. I did come across a site which had which type of locomotive each character was based on but I can't find it atm.
