Was scratching my head this morning as after looking in the spares box, I seemed to have little that resembled JATO type rockets for the sledge.

Then I noticed I had quite a few of these SNEB packs......

..... which if placed like this......

..... kinda look sort of right.

Managed to get a few decals on the cockpit section while I await the results of how my `JATO` turned out.

Obviously these are all fictional and I`ve a couple more to attach.

Ok, I seem to have come on leaps and bounds with this today. I even got round to experimenting with the smoke effect, but thats a little way off yet.

Still WIP, but this is the rocket sledge pretty much complete......,

Put in the ejection seat rail and gave the fuselage a decent wash.....,

......., and to finish off, a couple of pictures of both sledges with the other bits and pieces I`ve added.

Cheers guys. :D

This build seems to be creating a bit of interest over on the what if forum...., although for some reason the track is the main source of debate...?!??

So started putting the finishing touches to the `action` side of the model.

First I got the drogue chute made and fitted.....

.... and then got the framework in place. I`m hoping that when I`ve mastered the cotton wool smoke effect the wire will be hidden from view as best it can.

Anyway, here`s where I`m at.

So after quite a few attempts at getting the `smoke` effect, here`s my final effort......,

After sticking some cotton wool to the wire frame, I applied `puffs` of it bit by bit and used hair spray to bond it together. Once I had the shape, I then gave the whole thing a light spray of Tamiya Haze Grey and then followed this up with a good dose of Spray Mount to give it some strength.

Obviously not perfect, but as I`ve found out, this is actually quite a hard effect to get 100%.

I think this is good and does portray the ejection quite well.
