Onto loco number 2. Thomas fans will recognise this loco as Mavis the diesel, although the paint scheme will be different and it will lack cow catchers.

The molds are ok... the release agent is pasted on. The fit isn't brilliant and lots of filler will be needed but i'm quite looking forward to seeing it built and sat on the model railway layout at the Nene Valley railway when complete.

Well there's been a quite a bit of progress with this. The fit isn't brilliant and quite a bit of Mr Surfacer has been used. The lack of proper instructions hasn't helped. The detail on it is good though. It's now ready to head off to the spray booth for the first coats of paint.

This looks really nice already.

They don't do N Gauge kits do they as the missus would love some of
them for her layout?

Yes, she is the steam enthusiast in the family. For her 40th I paid for her to
have a day riding on the footplate and driving a steam engine at Severn Valley.

As far as i'm aware they don't do N gauge. I've not seen anyone actually do plastic kits of N gauge locos.

I need to meet someone who shares my love of steam, would make me look far less geeky

I got the Corsair kit btw, it arrived yesterday. If you're after a particular kit and I have it in the stash let me know and it's yours in return. Thanks mate.

If it makes you feel any better my email address includes this 60163Tornado.

I've never seen N gauge plastic kits either. I was looking for a while when I was close to doing my layout. Maybe one day I will get round to laying some track.

I've done quite a bit of work on this this afternoon. I've just glossed it and once that's dried i'll put the few decals on. Then a bit of weathering, matt coat and some liquid glaze in the windows.

Cheers guys. It was just impossible to mask the lines around the pre molded rails, etc so I ended up brush painting. I had to use a pin to get the paint into certain spaces. I've just finished putting my weathering washes onto it so they'll be dry in the morning. I wanted to get this off the bench so that I can speed build some Corsairs over the next few days.

Not quite a Choo Choo more like a throb and grunt. Lovely build and finish though.
