I don't think I'd have the patience for a build like this, and certainly don't have the room for it.
Good progress!

I will be giving a final coat of satin/Matt varnish to this tomorrow.
Ive made a simple base and Im just waiting for a NASA logo sticker to add to it then the build is complete :yipee :yipee

The tiny little figure is the Astronaut out of the SCA and Shuttle box....just gives a bit of scale .

Started this in April and its finally all done :yipee: :yipee: :yipee:

Conclusion
This is a hell of a lot of plastic for the money , Ive seen these sell for around the £50 mark but be quick because these are getting scarce .
Ive had a few problems regards the build due to the very vague instruction diagrams. There are parts on the sprues that are not mentioned anywhere in the instructions .....please please Revell take on board comments about the quality of your instructions :thumb:
As for the kit itself this is no way a weekend or even a month of weekends kit....this is serious modelling time .
In the box as it is you will build a basic rendition of the Launch tower , not totally accurate but when finished it is still an impressive model .
You can spend years scratch building extras onto this if you so wished or even spend double the price of the kit on a couple of sets of PE ....these would turn this into a very impressive build , no doubt the centre piece of any collection.
Therefore I would not recommend this kit to the beginner but someone who has a few kits under their belt.
Still got to hand it to Revell for re-issuing this and giving us the opportunity to build what is sadly now a piece of history.

Here she is then.....with a simple wooden base and a NASA sticker logo (the only other things I added to the build where 4 magnets to stop the Shuttle from falling over) and a Revell banner "Build your Dream" which is quite apt as this is a kit I could only of dreamed of building but thanks to Revell for supplying the kit and giving me the chance to build it and also thanks to all who have commented and kept watching along the way :cool

Bloody marvelous, it's been a long time coming but it has been well worth it. I've truly enjoyed following this build.

That is just SO impressive. It's one where I could easily see someone taking a couple of years to add aftermarket and scratchbuilt details - way beyond me though!
