So this is Avro Lancaster B.Mk.II as built by Armstrong-Whitworth. She is in the markings she wore while with 514 Sqdn 3 Group RAF Bomber Command from December 1943-July 1944. From there she went to 1668 HCU, and was SOC in March 1945.

Cracking build Daz. Looks like a nice kit although it's a shame Airfix make you pay extra for the bomb bay contents.

Another superbly finished Lanc! Nice to see a radial engine one.

So what's this about Airfix charging extra for bombs?

Airfix want you to buy the Bomber re-supply set for bombing up your Lanc. I have two of these sets.

I like the idea of separate weapon sets as there is usually quite a lot in the box for spares. Airfix did something similar with the Valiant by releasing the PR version, quite logical really if you think about it as the PR version boxed as a complete kit wouldn't probably sell well.

On the other hand you have Hasegawa with an expensive kit and no weapons forcing one to buy another expensive kit just for the weapons.
