I'll hedge my bets with a Beauheim Whif then. |

Well only 7 and a half days to go until we all find out. Admittedly I`d be a bit more excited if it was a 1/48 product but you can`t have it all I suppose.....

I've just had a look at the actual calendar . . Airfix describing this as a 'BEAUty' kinda takes the guesswork out of this one. |

![]() Todays. First impression for the top model was 'Hellcat' but the tailplanes are too low for it. Even tho' it's already been announced, I think that one could be the Defiant. Possibly a new 1:48 P-51. Lower one looks to be a low, or mid-wing jet with a plank wing. The tanks could well be slung under the wingtips rather than in line with them which might suggest a T-33 family member? Edited by DLG Dave, Dec 18 2014, 08:16 AM.

Fuselage of the lower plane looks very short. Too short for a T33 or any other in it's family tree. Plus that strange shape tail.... Looking at it, it seems to be jet vs prop. So not WW2 (or at least highly unlikely). Most probable scenario is Korean war.....Panther/Cougar/somesuch? But against what? |

Looked at this on the website and the blurb mentioned "wild" which made me think of a Mustang, possibly early version this was re-enforced by the square wings but the fuselage profile doesn't look deep enough, more firefly/fulmar shaped. The other one could he looks more like a JP than a T-33 to me due to the nose and straight wings on the trailing edge. We'll find out in a few days. |

I saw this on the Airfix site earlier, have to say my initial feelings were also P-51B and Jet Provost. |

Trouble is, you have to think who or where would have used a P-51 and a Strikemaster in combat against each other? It would have to be some South American or African country, and how saleable is that? I am sticking with Korean War, but I can't for the life of me think what the prop plane could be, as I would guess the jet would be an early USN jet. But then, I'm usually wrong

I'm not assuming a dogfight double, I don't remember Airfix ever launching two new tools in one box in this way before and you would have to have aircraft on opposing sides? Si. Edited by Simon G, Dec 18 2014, 11:03 AM.

I just assume Dogfight double because they are shown together on the same stand....(even the stand is wrapped) Yes, they would have to be adversaries, which is why I'm unable to think what they could be. |

Didn't they release a couple of "now and then" kits on double stands as well? Not that that necessarily helps, a Balliol and JP would be a bit unlikely. |

True...That is a possibility, but yes, unlikely as the JP isn't really "now" lol |

According to the Airfix Facebook page, the aircraft on the right should have a propeller....... And it is a dogfight double. Edited by DevilFish, Dec 18 2014, 03:56 PM.
