Wouldn't it be a trifle fast for a tanker? |

Even I wouldn`t put a Tigers head on a Concorde. Wouldn`t do 111 sqn either though as that`s an historical fighter sqn as well. IIRC, the speculation of the day about the use of Concorde in time of war against the Warsaw Pact was as a high speed nuke delivery system. This means in reality terms of whiffing a Concorde, it would of probably kept the BA scheme but just had a couple of nukes strapped on below. |

This would be boring. Re 111, I'm confusing myself as I meant 617 Squadron. Oh sod it I'll bugger off and leave it to the experts. |

I think strapping anything to the outside of Concorde would limit it's performance, making it no better than anything else we had. My idea is to make it a British Valkyrie, with extra internal fuel and internal bomb bays, using rotating doors ala Buccaneer, so the it doesn't have to slow down to deliver it's payload. |

You could extend the range by bunging a couple or four Mirage supersonic tanks underneath, also wondering if a Valiant bomb bay would fit. |

Obviously if you looking to make this an whif RAF jet from the out start, then you completely correct mate. My comments were solely based on the `real world` plans to use Concorde in time of war. Bolting a couple of nukes to the underside probably would of been the only thing they could do given the time constraints. |

RAF 60s Transport Command sand'n'stone scheme with black undersides and the white cap over the cockpit. Displayed in-flight with the clamshell doors open at rear for a LAPES drop..... |
