This is my first of the year a Harrier GR3 of HMS Hermes air group "op corporate" 1982. not a very good kit overall, reminded me why i'm not that keen on airfix kits, having said that I don't think it turned out to bad, c + c welcome as ever IMG_0001 by gunmonkey65, on Flickr IMG_0002 by gunmonkey65, on Flickr IMG_0003 by gunmonkey65, on Flickr IMG_0004 by gunmonkey65, on Flickr IMG_0006 by gunmonkey65, on FlickrJust a couple of my FRS 1 and GR3 together IMG_0009 by gunmonkey65, on Flickr IMG_0011 by gunmonkey65, on FlickrThat's all folks |

Nowt wrong here, it is an excellent build etc. Don't let the kit turn you away from Airfix as this is a very old tooling and their modern kits are far, far better. Sorry but now a niggle. I have to query the camo painted rocket pods? all photos that I have in books etc show them to be natural metal as do the kit instructions. A minor criticism I know but they just don't look right, sorry. |

Fantastic build While on the rocket pod's i've built the 1:24 Airfix Harrier GR.3 and that has you paint them green only |

Very nice. Can I ask, is the kit out of the box, including decals? |

Ok. Because I didn't want to point out all the mistakes if it wasn't....lol The inner Pylons are Sea Harrier ones. The leading edge on the GR3 ones is straight not bent. The decals are...well, I have no idea. 1 sqn was the only one to send GR3s to the Falklands and that is not a 1 sqn badge.... Speaking of which, all aircraft serving in the war theatre had sqn markings painted over. The front nozzles should be green as they are cold and not subject to such high temps as the rears. Not 100% sure but the tail fin looks too tall. Almost like a Shar one again.... I'm not detracting from your build here, as it's a lovely one, just that for some reason Airfix seem to have gotten it all wrong! |

I had an idea that it wasn't a 100% gr3, the 1 sqn badge made me wonder as well. pylon is a pylon to me (ex pongo), I think airfix are a bit like me, if it looks like a gr3 then it is a gr3. i'm not a great fan of airfix anyway I find revel much better all round, that's the thing with c+c's it all helps for the next time tks

That really is a very nicely done Harrier which should wet the appetite for everyone taking part in the future Harrier GB later this year. Btw..., is this the 1/72 kit? |
