Typhoon ZK335 (FC) of 1 Squadron has acquired nose art in the form of a Wasp. No, not a painting of the world famous and mighty Rolls-Royce Nimbus powered Naval helicopter unfortunately, but an actual Wasp.

BBMF Hawker Hurricane LF363 is painted in the colours of Battle of France and Battle of Britain fighter ace Arthur Clowes with the 1 Squadron code letters "JX-B" and a colourful wasp painted on both sides of the nose. Clowes, himself, painted the original wasp nose art onto his Hurricane Mk 1, P3395, ‘JX-B’, in 1940.

1 Squadron is keeping its history alive by painting a replica of the Wasp nose art on Typhoon FGR4 ZK335. It might not have the decal manufacturers buzzing with excitement (couldn't resist that) as it's quite small. I haven't posted an image or link as I believe the only one I've seen could have copyright issues to do so.
