Bell P-39D Airacobra of 36th Fighter Squadron, 8th Fighter Group, New guinea, 1943

Revell reboxing of the ICM kit. Reasonably straight forward. Built out of the box with the only addition being tape and wire straps

Problem areas were,
1) The doors don't fit that well, so best to have them open. Only problem is the LH door wasn't normally used, as it could only be opened from the outside...
2) A decal is given for the spinner marking, but it's slightly too small, so I painted in the missing bits.
3) If I were to build one again I'd replace the guns with aftermarket brass or something as the kit ones are just basic cylinders.

I put a big bolt and washers in the front....worked perfectly.

That looks really nice, I like it. :cool

I do miss the traditional Blue Tack under the nose wheel though.

I feel it's one of my best to date. Which is good because I'm going to put it up for sale at the Newark Victory day show.

I've always seen models for sale but just thought people were chancing one's arm so to speak, so do people really buy made up models at shows then?
