McDD F-15B ‘Baz’ Israeli Defence Force This particular F-15B ‘704’ is a double MiG killer and both were Syrian MiG-21s. The first was in 1979 and the second in 1982 and at both times it carried just a single pilot. The kit is the Great Wall 1/48th F-15B/D Eagle built OOB and brush painted using a mix of Xtracolor and Model Master Paint thinned slightly with Model Master Lacquer thinners. The kit is over engineered to my beliefs as several panels are open with electronics displayed but without decent photos of these I decided to close everything up. There is a choice of instrument panels for the B and D and all come with separate decals for the dials, great fun. The one thing that I did have to change was the exhausts as Great Wall only supply the unshrouded types which are correct for the ‘D’ but wrong for the ‘B’ so I raided a Hasegawa F-15E for the unwanted shrouded exhaust and these fitted perfectly without alteration. War load is 4 AIM-7 Sparrow and 4 Python 3 AIMs plus 3 fuel tanks. GW supply what seems like thousands of tiny stencils and panel numbers but these haven't all been applied as,to be totally honest, I was finding it a bit of a struggle just to see them. Would I build another, yes indeed and their F-15C MSIP is sitting in my loft as we speak Advice for anybody building this kit. If you have the original with the added fuselage correction mouldings make sure that you identify the originals and discard them as the correction sprues carry the same part numbers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Olde Farte, Feb 26 2015, 02:49 PM.

Calm down Andy it's only plastic but go ahead and lick all you want, the screen is non toxic. Many thanks guys, it was a most enjoyable build. @snapper655 Exhaust interior is gloss white with a darkish wash, the white interiors do remain whitish throughout their life.
