The Dassault Entendard IVM was a private venture by Dassault which shared little more than a conceptual commonality with the earlier Etendard II and VI lightweight strike fighters. The design was accepted by Frances Aeronavale as a basis for a multi-role ship-board fighter.

A contract for five fully navalised pre-production machines was issued and the protorype flew on the 21st May 1958. A further pre-production airframe was ordered in September 1959 with a camera nose and became the IVP. Sixty-nine IVM’s were delivered between 1961 and 1965, in addition 21 unarmed Tactical Reconnaissance IVP’s (The subject of this model) were delivered in the same time frame.

Powered by a SNECMA Atar 8C Turbojet of 4,400 kg (9,700 lb) static thrust, the IVP had a maximum speed of 673 mph (1,077 km/h) at 10,962m.

The kit itself had a few fit issues around the lower engine intake and the wing fold, I found the canopy to be oversized as well. Altogether though no huge issues and I find myself quite liking the look of the finished product.
