Introduced in 1985, the T-80 BV features blocks of explosive reactive armour (ERA) which are fitted to the vehicle´s front end, the sides and to the turret. When a vehicle is hit by HEAT projectile, that particular ERA block explodes to minimize the effect of penetration. In addition to more conventional ammunition, the 125 mm 2A46 main gun of the T80 BV is also capable of firing 9M112 Kobra (AT-8) missiles. The 12.7 mm NSVT anti-aircraft machine gun fitted to the commander´s cupola is used for air defence. Weighing roughly 12.5 t the vehicle is powered by a gas turbine which develops some 1050hp. Max. speed 80 km/h.

The Kit

This is a re-release of a somewhat forgotten about tank, although its weight and size would class it as a ‘Heavy’ its more of a multi role medium. This kit is beginning to show its age as the moulds are showing flash and some of the panel lines are more like trenches

The instructions....

These are the normal Revell booklet style with 12 pages covering the 23 steps of the build, the Paints are in Revell callouts only and some require mixing. The instructions appear clear and simple to follow

The Plastic...

The box is crammed full of green plastic My only concern would be the sprues gate on some smaller pieces may cause issues

In Conclusion
A nice little reissue of a forgotten tank, some issue will occure if not carefull removing the pieces from the sprues other wise a nice beginner tank

Interesting. Shows a Soviet tank with a modern Russian flag so no Hammer & Sickle.
