i wonder if others have the same issue as im having now

im really motivated to build, but i have a problem....

i just cant decide what to do next

i have far too many kits but i dont want to part with them (before anyone asks) but i sit and look at the stash and i want to build them all but dont know where to start.

the 152 should be finished today or tommrow but then the bench is virtually clear ( while i wait for some bits )

so dont know what to do

When I hit that problem I always get my daughter to come to the stash and pick something.

I usually go for something that can be built quickly. Gives me time to think, without wasting the mojo.
And if I get fed up with it, then it won't end up as another shelf queen.

I often have that problem, as I have so many ideas going around my head, and not enough time to build them. That plus my bench is very rarely ever empty....

oh yes. got it at the moment

i tend to make a list of group builds on various forums i want to join in with during the year, but theres always empty bits between them and thats when i get stuck.....cos im not building for a reason.....does that make sense?......and i just sit looking at the stash thinking 'that looks interesting.....maybe.......what about that one?...maybe.......youve always wanted to do that one......maybe' tend to end up with half a dozen and still cant make my mind up

and its made worse cos i like to mix things up and try not to do two of the same genre on the trot lol lol

I agree with the quick and simple approach. A 'palette cleanser' pick something high quality but non complicated ( for me a Hasegawa 1/32 WW2 subject usually fits the bill) while you are building this one your next project will likely evolve in your imagination.

2 things happened today that have made my decision

1- a 41sqn tornado did a low level pass over my head
2- del convinced me to buy some brimstones

so a tornado it has to be

Nice one Mark I was going to say I am always influenced by something I read or see and that pushes me to my choice.

Convinced him? :rolf I had to hold him back as he kicked everybody else into touch to get them.

I once made the mistake of asking my wife to choose my next kit to build, as I couldn't get motivated. Each kit she chose was then subject (in my mind) to one or two reasons why it wasn't a good idea and would be impossible to construct.

After a couple of days pondering, I just decided to take a break for a month and return to the bench when I felt fresh again.
