Well the bench is clear and i fancy a challenge so here goes

the review is here: http://s15.zetaboards.com/Mainly_Military/topic/8073122/1/#new

the first problem im going to encounter is the size of this beast!! 106cm!

having gone through the instructions i think i can build this in sections and then add all the details at the end so hear goes

Last bit for today

the basic structure of this kit is very simple, its all the detail at the end that with both set this apart and also take the most time

ive only sent the afternoon on this and jet im building the hull

You need a bigger bench!

I have the 1/72 Type VIIC and even the size of the box is intimidating.

I couldn't see just how big this is until I see it on 2 A3 building mats, it's enormous so have fun handling this.

well to keep Del happy ive progressed a bit between the list of jobs ive been left by SWMBO

the bow planes are on as is the propeller shafts, no issues with them, however i have decided to leave some bit off intil the main paining is done, as i think a rattle can may be employed for the bulk of the painting

OK more progress,

despite coming down with a deadly contagion i have finished the hull of the sub, i did plan to add the props later but is soon came apparent that there was not enough room to install them at the end so these will have to be painted in situ

i am still a little worried about the seam on the hull, ive tried to maintain a balance between a seam and loosing all the detail by sanding, only time will tell

next up is the deck!
