Most of you by now will have seen the finished results of my AC-47D in it`s RAF `What If` scheme.

But what was it like to build?

Well for one thing the kit is big so not only will you be worrying about where you can display it but in the later stages of it`s construction a concern may be about where you can build it without upsetting the wife and where you can leave it to cure or dry without the little un`s getting your paws all over it. Well..., in my case anyway.

You certainly get a lot of plastic for your money.........,

........ although, as most will know, this design is from the 70`s so with that plastic comes a lot of raised panel lines.

The real plus about this kit is the amount of detail and bits you get for the interior.

The cockpit and radio operator area`s if done well would really bring the kit to life.

And anyone who includes the inflight toilet and sink gets my vote.

The fit was not perfect in some places but not a struggle.

It also may of been a little bit 50/50 as well due to my `chubby` fingers.

Also included in the kit are three figures shown here looking like the Village People.

And finally a finished build picture although looking some what different from the box art.

In Conclusion

This kit is in need of modernisation. The raised panel lines no doubt put some builders off and the fit needed a little bit of guidance in some places.

I`m sure AM parts would really enhance this kit if applied.

However saying that, I really, really enjoyed making this kit and especially the interior.

Providing you have the space to display it, this is a nice subject matter for all those modellers interested in the Vietnam war.

Mine was complete with crew sitting on that toilet, never would see it though.
