Hi all,
I did a bit of research in to the feasibility of the USN operating the Mustang, and whilst having a look around found this page. So this is now no longer a what-if, but a what could of been build

I had somehow missed the fact that Airfix had re-tooled the P-51, looks like a nice kit.

Liking the folding wings, will follow with interest.

Thanks for all the interest chaps :cool

Hi all,
I had painted it VMA-300 Glossy Sea Blue, but I had a change of plans. the aircraft looked far to new for my liking in just the Glossy Sea Blue, so I have repainted her A.MIG-221 Zinc Chromate Yellow (FS33481). This is so I can do some chipping on it, once she is back to being blue:

Looking a little Reno racerish . . . . Would have a fantastic rate of roll but land at a fair rate of knots!

Hi all,
Sorry for the lack of updates, but I have been very busy with work and viewing/buying a house. I have managed to finish her, although I somewhat rushed to get her finished, so its not as good as it should be :ohmy

This is a great looking whiff Mac so don't be too self critical.

Re cement on inside of canopy, I use a fibreglass pen to remove it then a gentle sand and polish and a wash in soapy water before flooding with Klear.

Regardless of rushing, that has turned out fantastic. Looks great in that colour scheme.
