Gaz's Double Frightning.; 1/72 Sword T.4

With only a couple of days of days to go to the start of this, I'll set my stall out for it. I'm almost done with the Komet for the "Winkle Brown's Logbook"
GB, so the desk is (basically) clear for the next project.

When Sword released their 2-seat Lightnings, I had to have one, I'd been looking for a Matchbox twin-stick Lightning for ages, and then this comes along.
Predictably, some tore it to pieces over the questionable length of it's nose, but it looks like a Frightning to me, so I'll build it OOB (as usual!).
There's PE for the cockpit and some external antennae, and resin bang seats and exhausts.
Decals and colour scheme details are given for a 56sqn kite in 1963 finished in NMF and Red, and for a 1976 machine of 92 sqn in DG with NMF undersides.

Good choice. I wish manufacturers would mould the straps onto their resin seats, much easier . . . And better looking than etch.

If there are 'major' problems with the nose I'm pretty sure the resin guys would have had a resin correction by now, they haven't so stick with it as it looks OK to me.

Thanks for your kind words and compliments, gents!
There has been some progress on this, but I've had to stop work, my eyes are sore and i have a headache- I think it's due to using the extreme
magnification lenses on my Optivisor clone to work with the PE in this kit!
If you follow the destructions, the build starts with the nosewheel bay/ shock body/radome unit. This, in fact:

And here's the part that's caused all the pain! It's those Bang seats. They're finished now, and look like this:

Work should carry on with the 'pit now, but I actually can't face any more PE at the moment . . .

Plus I'm on shift from tonight, will finish on Tuesday morning, so nothing will get done! (Just for clarification, that sounds like I'll be at work from now till Tuesday morning! I won't, it's just that 12-hour shifts + eating and sleeping leave no time for modelling . . .)

Nicely detailed seats but now you understand why I don't like PE and mine is 1/48th.

Thanks, guys! I don't believe I'll be doing many more Sword kits, I'm not enough of an enthusiast to get sucked into the resin & PE thing!
And the torture goes on! The IP is next up, and after assembling 2 PE laminations to the blank styrene IP, you are then faced with this:

The scalpel blade is pointing at the next piece to be added! It's a styrene cylinder about 1mm diameter x 1 mm high. 2 are added to the IP,
then each is "capped" with a disc microdot of PE. I hope its worth the struggle . . .

Oh dear, lucky you but stick with it as it will be worth it I'm sure.

Thanks, Del!
There has been progress! I'll let the pictures tell the story!
The IP consists of 2 laminations of PE attached to a styrene blank IP, and it looks like this:

I know it looks way too light a grey for a Lightning dashboard, but the flash has "bleached" the appearance, it looks about right to me!
The completed 'pit:

Installed in the fuselage:

And the fuselage closed up!

All that tape has been taken off, and there's a slight gap on top of the nose, and a very slight mismatch between the fuselage halves (no
locating pins/sockets, you see!). So next is a filling and sanding session . . .

Sweet, did you put a drop of clear gloss varnish into the dial holes?
