Gaz's Double Frightning.; 1/72 Sword T.4

With only a couple of days of days to go to the start of this, I'll set my stall out for it. I'm almost done with the Komet for the "Winkle Brown's Logbook"
GB, so the desk is (basically) clear for the next project.

When Sword released their 2-seat Lightnings, I had to have one, I'd been looking for a Matchbox twin-stick Lightning for ages, and then this comes along.
Predictably, some tore it to pieces over the questionable length of it's nose, but it looks like a Frightning to me, so I'll build it OOB (as usual!).
There's PE for the cockpit and some external antennae, and resin bang seats and exhausts.
Decals and colour scheme details are given for a 56sqn kite in 1963 finished in NMF and Red, and for a 1976 machine of 92 sqn in DG with NMF undersides.

Sweet, did you put a drop of clear gloss varnish into the dial holes?
I used gloss varnish to stick the 2 PE laminations together!!
Damn good idea and one which I will remember.

I have a confession to make: The wings are assembled, and added to the fuselage, so are the tail feathers, and I've started painting
without taking a photo! I just got carried away, sorry . . .

This afternoon I have made progress on this!

I overcame my fear of The Airbrush, and set up my spray booth and painted the NMF.

With no brush marks, it's the smoothest "silver" I've ever painted! Humbrol Metalcote 27001 Aluminium is the colour. Now to crack on with it!

One of those colour schemes that just looks so "right" for the Lightning.

Well, thanks, Guys, for all the kind comments, although as usual (and like most modellers, I think!) when I look at it the faults shout out to me!
I actually finished the model about 5 minutes ago, and I've taken a quick photo to mark the occasion! In spite of the faults I see, I'm quite proud of this model,
I airbrushed NMF for the first time(!), and while I haven't gone to town with varying shades of "silver" (1 step at a time!) it's certainly the best NMF I've ever done!
I did make a bit of a mess attaching the missile pylons getting glue stains on the paint, but I think I've recovered satisfactorily!

I'll put more photos in the gallery when we have one(!), assuming I get the chance to set up the light tent, etc. this afternoon. Back to work tomorrow!
In the meantime, here she is:

I'm still having difficulty motivating myself with modelling, too much building stuff because I think I ought to take part in XXX group build, and not enough building
just what I want- now there's a thought for a GB- your favourite kit in XXX scale!

All looks good to me Gaz, no visible faults to my old eyes so I certainly wouldn't worry.
