I have wanted to build this monster of a kit for some time and now I am able to do so. I still have some AM stuff to get for what I want to do but I am able to begin construction in the mean time. Here is a picture of the box top. ![]() I want to build the Nimitz in the time of Operation Eagle Claw during the Iran Hostage Crisis when it had Super Stallions on board. Here is a brief history of the event. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Eagle_Claw And some images. ![]() ![]() ![]() And here is a list of the Air Wing on board. ![]() I plan to scratch build the interior of the hanger deck, which Trumpeter supply. This will also be lit using the Carrier light set from Madman Lighting. ![]() Here is a picture of the deck dry fitted. ![]() There is still an etch set from White Ensign Model to get along with their Nuclear Carrier decal set. I have a decal set from Boatswain for the Air Wing and I need to get some more aircraft to populate the decks. Steve |

I've got the 1/350 Enterprise too, as it was for the filming of, the Search for Spock, Seriously though, I would love to see the ship and starship together. I bet they would be an awesome sight! |
