This is my latest one, just for a change its a toom. depicting an RF4 E of the IDF's 119th Tajeset "Ha'Atalef", during the yom kippur war of 1967 (1973 really). I don't think it turned out to bad. The kit itself is pants, bad fits all over, ejector pin marks, warping. it said on the box "fully upgraded moulds" me thinks they are talking bo*****s. Wow Martin this is a corker of a build and finish, right up my street with me being an avid IDF modeller. Sorry though, just a couple of errors for you which don't detract from your model. The first RF-4E arrived in Israel during 1971 and the Yom Kippur war ran from Oct 6th to Oct 24th in 1973. The War of Attrition (also known as the 1000 day war) is difficult to actually pin point but general consensus puts it starting in June 1967 with Ceasefire in August 1970 with the period covering 1000 days hence the name. Second is those heavy white IFR marks on the top fuselage, None of the photos in my IDF books including Israeli Phantoms Parts 1 & 2 by Double Ugly show this. Boom IFR was first provided by KC-97s, but possibly converted Boeing Stratocruiser airliners, then by converted 707s. Most IDF aircraft are now refueled by the probe and drogue method which in some cases (i.e. F-15I) have detachable probes. |

I thought 67 was wrong, built out of the box as looking at the kit I would not have wasted any a/m stuff on it, I didn't think they got rf's until later on either. I've never built an idf aircraft before so it's a first for me, got the kfir to do that I got off you, as well as the sufa. cheers del
