Do playoff standings really go based off divisional record? What's the point of playing the 22 game season when only 4 games matter?

Mike designed the league bro, not me. Ask him the technical questions, I just run the mechanics of the league, the nuances are all his shit.

See rules below, last updated March 16. Why would division record be tiebreaker #2 if it's the primary thing that governs standings? (Because it's assumed that w/l record is the #1 thing that governs standings). I also don't see anything about using a 1-win/game format in the rules either.

Playoff Ties

1.) If 2 teams are tied for the division then the following tie breakers are used in order.
Tiebreaker 1 is H2H.
Tiebreaker 2 is division record (If in same division).
Tiebreaker 3 is conference record (If in same conference).
Tiebreaker 4 is most amount of wins minus extra inning wins.
Tiebreaker 5 is total record added up each week based on the 12 categories.
Tiebreaker 6 is total record added up based on the 12 categories against opponents in the same division.
Tiebreaker 7 is total record added up based on the 12 categories against opponents in the same conference.
Tiebreaker 8 is a coin flip.
2.) If 2 teams are tied for the Wild Card spot in the conference then the following tie breakers are used in order.
Tiebreaker 1 is H2H.
Tiebreaker 2 is conference record (If in same conference).
Tiebreaker 3 is most amount of wins minus extra inning wins.
Tiebreaker 4 is total record added up each week based on the 12 categories.
Tiebreaker 5 is record against opponents in the same conference.
Tiebreaker 6 is total record added up based on the 12 categories against opponents in the same conference.
Tiebreaker 7 is a coin flip.
3.) If 3 or more teams are tied for the division then the following tie breakers are used in order. Each team's individual matchups vs. the other teams in the tiebreak will be determined (rather than adding the records vs. all teams in the tiebreak). Once you get a division winner then the remaining teams fall to #4 below.
4.) If 3 or more teams are tied for the Wild Card spot in the conference then the following tie breakers are used in order. If 2 spots are available then take the top 2 teams. For 2 spots, if one team wins a tie breaker but the others are still tied, that team earns a spot and the remaining teams start from tiebreaker 1 again.

I dunno, I'll text him and have him sort it all out, I am just going by how I was told to do it like a good little administrator lmbo. I can handle the logistics of maintaining the league but I won't run the league for him, especially when I don't understand the mechanics of the rules myself...though I never really read them...
