Because none of us want anything to get out of hand at MapMakers United, I am writing up a list of rules to remember. Please read them and ask me or Colton via personal message if you have any questions or comments. Be conscious of your language and manner when posting at MapMakers United. No language considered to be worse than mild is allowed at MapMakers United. We do not tolerate foul or offensive language. Placing asterisks instead of letters does not reduce how offensive or vulgar your post may be. No lashing out at any of the members. This includes new members. It is common for new members to not know much about forums and they might be prone to rule-breaking actions such as spamming. It is your duty not to violently lash out at the new members. You must tell a volunteer administrator who will take care of the situation. If you disagree with one or more of the members, do not lash out or violently attack them. Please be respectful with your disagreements. And most of all, do not attack one or more of the volunteer administrators who make MapMakers United possible for all of us. No spam. Simple. Do not spam on any of the forums. This includes the use of more than 10 smilies in your posts. Make sure your posts are contributing to the discussion and will not stirrup major controversy. The last thing we want is for members to be annoyed or angered enough to leave MapMakers United. So please, do not post anything that may cause arguments or that may offend the other members. Also, only post if you have something to contribute to the discussion. Brief messages such as “Yep” or “Okay” or “Cool” do not contribute anything to the discussion. This includes text phrases such as “lol” or “rofl.” Bigotry is not tolerated. Do not lash out at anyone, guest or member, regarding their race, religion, sexual orientation, political standings, or any other group. This will not be tolerated at MapMakers United. No illegal discussions or hacking. Do not encourage the discussion of anything illegal to which is not bound by the legal interest of MapMakers United. Do not hack or attempt to hack into anyone’s account or into the administrative controls. This is not tolerated at MapMakers United. You MUST read thoroughly and follow these rules before you post at MapMakers United. Breaking any of these rules may lead to immediate removal of your account on MapMakers United. No exceptions. Most importantly, have fun. |
