Easy to mass produce like the Speros, the Tevis was designed to support the Speros and defend it from incoming frigates. At the same time the Tevis is able to interdict and engage at close range with supporting fire from the larger frigates. However, unlike the Speros with its 2150 refit, the Tevis class hasn't changed since its inception, aside from some upgrades. These ships were produced in three types. The first run of vessels built in the at the turn of the 20th century have since been put out of service. The second run of vessels were made with more modern materials, known as "Flight II Tevis". After becoming vassals of the Krogan Empire in 2203 and gaining access to EGA Weaponry and technology, the Tevis underwent its final evolution known as the "Flight III Tevis" with this Krogan technology. The second and third flights were approved as a stopgap measure for the new navy doctrine to be established. While originally planned for 275 total vessels, construction was halted after 2210 several years after becoming a vassal of the Krogan Empire. These Corvettes still serve alongside the replacements of the "Gray Navy", and many have been moved into direct service with the CSS, fitting a niche needed by the agency in terms of space craft. While the original production line of Corvettes have been retired and scrapped or repurposed. 10 Flight I models are awaiting scrapping or disposal as a target. Most Flight II Corvettes have been mothballed or moved into CSS service. The Flight III remains the only active serving Corvette model. These Corvettes are slated to leave active naval service, being moved into training and experimental roles, as well as replacing Flight II Corvettes in service with the CSS. The Tevis-class is on the way out of active service with the Thyserian Royal Navy. The Flight III vessels in active service will be replacing Flight II vessels in reserve service in the Naval Academy and with the CSS. Flight II vessels will be phased out and eventually destroyed along with the remaining Flight I vessels that were not converted into buildings on the science colony (excluding the Tevis.) The lead ship of the class has already been preserved as a museum on Thysera and is currently the only vessel bearing the old Erineos ERK Prefix. In Service and Preserved Navy: 100 (85 Flight III in active service, 15 Flight II in service as training vessels and reserve fleet) CSS: 38 (Flight II) Mothballed: 45 (Flight II) Awaiting Destruction: 10 (Flight I) 2175-Aeia Science Colony: 4, Flight I [repurposed as science buildings with turrets able to be used defensively on ground] ERK Tevis Museum (Thysera) Edited by Wheeljack, Feb 13 2017, 01:06 PM.
