Taking lessons learned from the Nerpa, the Thysera-class doesn't need to retract flight pods before making a jump, allowing for this vessel to be combat effective immediately after a jump. In the modern age of warfare, aircraft have become more important, the class marks a continuation of the old system of weaponry used by the Thyserians in previous centuries. The lack of a spinal gun has allowed Thyserian engineers to push ship sizes to a new limit and break what was formerly thought of as a glass ceiling by many. Making her a Dreadnought length Cruiser at 1151m; while not as large as the Nerpa, she dwarfs some dreadnoughts in service with other governments by the length of a frigate. ![]() Thysera class Cruiser in battle against a Geth heretic vessel. The Thysera has proven to be an effective combat platform in various skirmishes against pirates, Geth heretics, and even major conflicts fighting alongside vessels of the Krogan Empire. Her performance had solidified the naval doctrine envisioned by the architects of the Gray Navy in 2202. Even centuries after her introduction, she is still a worthy adversary and should not be looked at lightly by more modern designs. The Krogan Navy even saw use in the Thysera-class, originally ordering three of the vessels with roomier interiors for Krogan as an evaluation for line vessels. With enough of the Nerpa-class Cruisers in their service, and the introduction of the Battlemaster-class Cruiser and Warlord-class Heavy Cruiser, it was decided that no more would be purchased. However, these ships have found a new use with being used as a drone control vessel, while retaining capability to launch fighters and attack/defend if needed. Naming Conventions: Vessels of this class are named by their first captain, so the gambit of names varies.
