Description:
The success of the Scimitar in the Terminus caused a new design specifically for the Thyserian Navy to be called for. The result was the YA-443, dubbed the "Zero" by the designers at Yakaiev. The 443, unlike the Scimitar, is more stylish and would be recognizable as an Asari fighter. Even with the distinct lines, the Zero still has the iconic lines of the Scimitar that preceded it.

The Zero's wings make it suitable for atmospheric operation as well as carrier based operations in space. The Zero was also upgraded with an entirely glass cockpit, eliminating the older analog instruments that were once in the Scimitar. The Zero also received a side stick control instead of the center stick of the Scimitar for a more ergonomic design to the cockpit. The cockpit is small, however, not allowing for larger species like Krogan or Turians to pilot it.

This craft is also capable of operating in various conditions: in pairs, smalls quads, or even en masse with their Krogan overlords. The Zero, even by modern standards, is highly maneuverable and, in the hands of the right pilot, can still go toe to toe with modern designs. The age of the design shouldn't be discounted, nor its firepower. The Zero, like the Super Scimitar, is capable of carrying weapons on wing hardpoints. However, unlike the Scimitar, the Zero is extremely limited in strike situations. Most Zeros will be fitted with Infrared Air-Air Missiles but can be fitted with rocket pods for strike runs in place of the missiles. The missiles supplement the 3 MAC guns on the Zero's wings.

Only 75 Zeros were built during the Republican Period and these have since been placed into storage at one of the polar bases on Thysera. Further Zeroes constructed after becoming vassals of the Krogan Empire have been outfitted with EGA Antimatter engines and miniature versions of the Bloodrage Autocannons, making the Zero a far more fearsome combatant.

Advantages:
Simple and cheap to construct even with the improvements
Highly maneuverable
Capable of stalking, given the proper paint scheme (does not make it immune to sensors)
Will still outdo most fighters in the Terminus

Designed for the Terminus
Cramped cockpit
Avionics Layout is primarily forward facing
Advanced for its time, though now dated
