It was the middle of the afternoon, with the sky already turning to an reddish orange color and the clouds pointing away towards the sun. There were people still walking around the courtyard, some of them going off to a club or class and some going out of the school to go into town. However it was different for Keo. The girl sat down underneath a huge tree, giving out an occasional sigh here and there. She had been out for a while from this school, and it had been a while since she had been back to Midori High. The girl let out another sigh, that and she was still not used to this atmosphere here. She wasn't able to have a stable friendship relationship, and it didn't exactly help with her how she sometimes tended to be a loner.

Keo wondered to herself, 'I suppose I should get going to my dorm...or something like that...then again I'm sort of hungry...'

The girl shook her head, and took out her flute that was always with her. Keo started to play a light melody of Serenade by Drigo. The soft melody danced within the air, making the Courtyard even more peaceful then before. Since she was so engrossed however, Keo wasn't really paying attention that much, the melody was also bringing around her healing powers throughout the area. People who were stressed, felt suddenly light, those who were feeling aches and pains from a sport were feeling in tip top shape.

However if only this melody could heal herself, from her insecurity and loneliness.

A briefcase swayed along as the young professor whistled, his latest class had just ended with a peculiar surprise. It felt as though progress was being made with his apprentice but he could not help but shake the feeling that the void was getting stronger in him. The more they trained the higher his persona seemed to change to the point of complete domination of his mind. However in this particular day Aiyu's concentration of energy was low. For the first time in a long time it seemed like progress was being made in controlling that unknown aspect. As he thought about the results and the possible causes a tune drifted past him. It was a familiar tune but one that he could not quite get. Side tracking towards the sound of the music his long emerald like hair drifted with the winds movements. The closer he moved towards the sound he could instantly feel a change in his magical circuit and energy, the sound was revitalizing and curative.

With an interest his eyes caught the source of the music, a lone girl and her flute. Seiji stood there and listened to the music as it filled him with more energy. Sai became entranced by the song as well and flew down from the sky and landed on the professor's shoulder. The song was reviving him slightly as the elegant phoenix was half warping between the physical and the spiritual plane, this event caught Seiji's attention even more. "Most impressive miss, it seems you have a talent for the curing arts. You are even managing to bring forth Sai into this realm, most impressive indeed." With a smile the Mythical Studies professor lightly clapped at the performance.

Keo started to almost become entranced with her own melody, almost actually nodding off herself when she heard someone say, "Most impressive miss, it seems you have a talent for the curing arts. You are even managing to bring forth Sai into this realm, most impressive indeed."The girl stopped playing and looked up curiously at the person who started to clap at her performance. Even though she had occasionally received praise for her playing, she still couldn't help but feel embarrassed. Not just that but she had been letting out her curing abilities through her song, and since her healing abilities weren't that advance as of yet, they still tended to sap away at her own energy.

"Thank you, sir...although my abilities aren't that good yet..." Keo said politely to the person who had complimented her, from the looks of it, the person looked too old to be a student here and was probably most likely a teacher or professor here at this school. Glancing at the bird that was also on this person's shoulder, she tilted her head curiously . It reminded her of a phoenix but she wasn't sure so she then asked, "Sai...does this happen to be the name of this creature?"

"Perhaps, this is the reason we go to school especially one such as this. In due time you will be able to control and improve on your own abilities." With the song now long passed Sai began to revert back to his spiritual form. Before completely vanishing the phoenix stretched his wings and screamed out into the world. Seiji was still able to see Sai in his spiritual form as he jumped off and flew away but to everyone else around him the bird had vanished. The look of bewilderment had always caused the professor to lightly laugh, it was one of the few simple joys that came with the job and the new students. "That would be correct Miss, Sai is from what I have gathered the last phoenix in this realm. As you can see or better yet not see, he is a bit... special. Yet to be able to partially bring him to the physical realm is no easy feat, it does require a strong curative power. Even then the strongest curative potions don't keep him physical for long. That is indeed quite the gift."

With a slight nod Seiji lightly bowed in tradition to Japanese culture and smiled through his simple specs. The girl's musical magic was something he had heard rumors about in the past. Magic that was able to be controlled by the flow of music was something Seiji had always wanted to witness. Since his arrival at Midori he had been grateful of the observations he was able to make."Pardon my rudeness, I am Seiji Valente the Mythical Studies professor."

"He's really a beautiful creature..."Keo said quietly, she was so fasinated with the creature since well...she had never seen anything like that before in reality, only in books. However to her dismay the phoenix cried out and then vanished from sight, leaving her with a sort of opened mouth look. Maybe she would learn more about such creatures when she started one of her classes.....classes.......she was forgetting something....hm. It would probably come to her sooner or later.

"R-Really?" she couldn't believe that her abilities were actually well....good enough to actually bring such a marvelous creature to this realm. Keo couldn't help but feel a flush of happiness and somewhat accomplishment. She never really knew if she was any good at her talent at all, since it was something she had sort of a talent she stumbled upon.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Keo Lockhart," So this person was the Mythical Studies Professor? That would make sense because of the phoenix...and....now that she thought about it...what was her class schedule?

"Indeed he is, an ancient being with more wisdom than anyone I have ever known." As he watched the girl's expression he could not help but inwardly laugh a bit, it was a priceless look that everyone seemed to have that it was normal for him to see on a daily basis. Seiji nodded when she had asked about her power knowing full well that it was something special. Even Mayumi~san had difficulty doing the same while the girl was somewhat accomplishing that without even knowing. Healers were always an interesting topic, as it did include on of his strongest arts. At the mention of the name, something rang inside Seiji's mind as if he had heard it before. Snapping his fingers the briefcase opened and a book flied out from it hovering in front of the professor. Licking his index finger lightly he flipped the pages till he found the one he had looked for and pointed at the name. Miss Kristina Elizabeth Olivia Lockhart age sixteen, third year. It appears as though you are enrolled in my class Miss. Lockhart, very interesting."

With a flick of his wrist the book closed and flew back into the briefcase and closed tightly. Removing his spectacles he tossed them in the air and they vanished from sight. Nodding a few times the young professor sighed. "Well I am not sure the circumstances as to why I have not seen you in any of my lectures as of late but that is quite alright. As long as you attend them from now on I won't give you bad merits for the semester. It would be lovely if you were to attend the next lecture, we shall be taking a field trip of sorts."

As Keo watched the young professor seem to pause a bit as if in thought...she suddenly took out a book and recited her name. To be honest that freaked her out a tiny bit, since well teachers were intimidating, and especially when they had their lesson plans...and other evil scary things such as grade books. She laughed nervously and said sheepishly, "Oh yes...I am." Well something she didn't remember, but since he had it all written down and even her full name, well she was. Although even though she was a little intimidated now, at least she had an interesting class hopefully. Since she loved animals and other creatures, it was a secret that she wanted her own companion...but one that wanted to be with her willingly. When the professor then questioned her attendance....

Keo laughed nervously, but he then said that he would excuse her...and that gave her a rush or relief. But maybe she wouldn't be as lucky with her other teachers. "I was away for a while...I'm probably really behind aren't I, professor? And...field trips?" That certainly wasn't something she ever thought she would be doing...since well she rarely had field trips. So far though, she couldn't wait to learn so many things, such as the simple tricks as making things appear and disappear.

The way he had spoken earlier hadn't hinted to him that it would scare the girl at the least. From the looks of things it appeared as though she were troubled by what he had said but lid up at the mention of field trips. Seiji was glad that students were still interested in such activities, especially with what he had planned for that day. It just reminded him more that he needed to prepare so that things would go smoothly. For the most part however it was already taken care off. "I see, well you haven't missed too much, just an assessment of the elemental alignment of each student, a bit of talk on each elemental and its place in the magical circuit, and a minor brushing on a few key creatures of the mystical era. It is quite a bit but manageable in your case."

The material up to that point was basic, the girl was lucky that she had just returned as the class was about to pick up onto the main topic. With a smile Seiji looked up at the sky and watch Sai as he hovered above. "Yes, we will be heading to Kawatoshi Lake for a lesson on the general advantages and uses of curative potions that can be derived from the lake. We shall also learn more about Phoenixes and their alignment to the curing arts and the possibilities of their current absence in the world. The class shall meet in the front gates at the start of class and head there via bus."

"Ah really? I should start my reading soon then to catch up in class soon...." Keo said quietly. Although hopefully all this catching up in all her classes wouldn't....kill her in the process. However this class sounded interesting so far, especially field trips since being outside was much more refreshing and fun rather then the stuffy classrooms. As her professor looked out to the sky, it seemed as if he was staring at something specifically....must have been a plane or something going overhead that she missed.

"We'll be learning more about the curing arts?" her eyes lighting up with excitement. It was the only thing that she could really do that was unique...since she lacked in other skills...since she only practiced in her curing abilities as of late. Although....now that she thought of it, she did have an affinity with water...so maybe she would be able to learn something less....gentle, such as attack spells or maybe even some defensive skills. Well, now there are some things that she'll have to look up and study now.

"That would be most advantageous for you at this point." Raising his bag slightly his attention diverted back to the area, since their talk had began a substantial amount of time had passed. It was also as if he had been fogetting a slight detail and his current destination. Yet such situations had always occured when he spoke about class curriculum. "Perhaps we might, it will depend on how the trip fares and the amount of students that are aligned to the curative arts. The next lectures might pertain information to that area, at this point I can't make a concrete choice, but we shall see."

Seiji smiled as he watched the enthusiasm of the young girl grow, it reminded him somewhat of the time he meet Thae. Although it appeared as though that particular student would get excited about any of the inner workings of the class. It was then that a thought hit him, and a reminder flashed in his mind. With a nervous smile the young professor shifted his weight to his left, "Well, perhaps we shall talk another time or at the very least during the field trip. I would like to stay more but I have a prior engagement to attend. If I may, I shall excuse myself. I wish you luck in your studies and that things go well Miss. Lockhart, farewell." With a slight wave the professor walked away towards the Stadium, time was short and deep down he knew that he was going to need every ounce of it if he was going to change a certain path.
