Trailer for THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE(1974)

I bought the sequel of this film on the cheap a few months ago(it stars Dennis Hopper) and I'm going to buy Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III(1990) this weekend.

I just recently started communicating with my friend by email. Until late last week I hadn't spoken to him since 1989, in twenty
years... shokked

Dog Day Afternoon

I'm planning on watching a pair of horror movies this weekend, on DVD, featuring some rather unpleasant canines. Among the movies I plan on watching:

Cujo

Devil Dog: Hound From Hell

The Omen (which includes a menacing rottweiler)

What I'm Thankful For in 2008

Here are some things I'm thankful for in 2008, as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches:

-I'm thankful, as always, that I can continue to perform my work in a professional and productive manner, despite the chronic and nagging pain of arthritis and gout that has plagued my back, my feet and left knee for the majority of the year.

-I'm thankful that despite the lousy state of the U.S. economy and even lousier state of the landscaping industry in Atlanta(GA), courtesy of an extended drought, I remain gainfully employed and, based on my experience and industry expertise, most likely exempt from any layoff by my employer.

-I'm thankful for the continued association I have with my girlfriend Gloria, despite the fact I see her less often these days(about twice a month). Her foot massages on my neck and back are still a welcome relief...among other things. tongue-1

-I'm thankful for my landlord, a kindly and generous elderly widow who has become the grandmother I never had as a kid.

-I'm thankful for the friendship of three men, all about my age, who are there for advice, a small $ loan, or a kick to my behind, or any combination of the three, depending on the circumstance.

-I'm thankful for the staff, and members, of this message board. Your participation in the growth and perpetuation of this site will always be appreciated by me.

-I'm thankful that my cat, The Hammer, continues to refrain from answering the call of nature outside the confines of his litterbox, and also for not urinating any more on my archival issues of Markalite magazine, which I still keep on the floor of my living room.

-I'm thankful for the technology of hi definition TV and DVDs.

-I'm thankful for the sacrifices, past and present, of those American servicemen and servicewomen serving here in the U.S. and abroad.

-I'm thankful for high speed internet access, which allows me to do so many more things on the internet.

-I'm thankful for Showa Godzilla and other classic(50's and 60's) Toho sci-fi films. Whenever I'm in a rut or feeling a little depressed watching one of these films on DVD cheers me up.

Where The Buffalo Roam

My elderly landlord is celebrating her birthday this weekend which is the good news. She's been in great spirits all week.

The bad news: a large portion of her family visiting for the weekend are small children, her grand kids, and they have been running and stomping all over the floor in the upstairs part of the house. I liken the audio effect of the little one's interior shenanigans to cattle, or perhaps buffalo, stampeding all over the roof of the house. loco
