... but films like, Ben-Hur, The Ten Commandments and The Sound of Music are usually safe to watch without fear of being edited. :)

They are, if you're referring to Turner Classic Movies, which is respectful to these classic films. There was a time when AMC was also, but no longer, their broadcasts of these films pan n scanned and now including commercial breaks. If it sounds like I hate commercials it's because, generally, I do. It's one reason why I seldom watch TV(when I do it is for sports like college football or the NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL). If I come across a film on HBO2, which shows older, less recognizable movie titles, I will turn on my DVD recorder and throw in a disc. :)
